Alice Ripley/J. Robert Spencer/Aaron Tveit - “You Don’t Know/I Am The One” from Next To Normal. 2009 Tony Awards. (Apparently, mics were an issue or something? That could account for why she’s so off the music…or maybe it was too many pills…)
While effective dramatically, Ms. Ripley hasn’t been really “on the music” since Sideshow. She’s our favorite to impersonate vocally.
Dammit, now I have to see this again.
I remember watching this that night and thinking she was waaaay off. But wasn’t that also the night Bret Michaels almost got killed by the set? Just sayin.
